Dalton Wildcard Confirmed!

The Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney Supernight event, brings Lochie Dalton the opportunity to run in Supercars main game. His first foray in the top level of Australian motorsport will also be under lights.

Lochie’s career started at the Launceston Kart Club at the age of 7, after a surprise present was delivered from his dad in the form of a go kart, after attending a kart meeting where his dad was racing. Following this, Lochie competed in State racing supported by his dad for the first few years, which was combined with a few runs over the Bass Strait to the mainland.

When AWC Constructions’ Andrew Walter and the Walter family looked to establish a Tassie Karting team, Lochie was invited run in the Australian Championships at age 12. He karted until age 16.

In 2018 he won the Australian Kart Championship, before shifting to Toyota 86 in a COVID interrupted year. Post this, Lochie jumped into the Trans Am Series and across a 2 years period secured multiple wins and podiums, eventually finishing runner up to Tickford Racing co-driver James Moffat. Next, Lochie shifted gears and ran in the Super2 series taking a podium at Perth. In 2024 Lochie shifted to Tickford Racing with the Super2 Tickford Autosport program and now has been offered the opportunity to run as a wildcard in the main game at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Lochie comments "I am over the moon to be making my Supercars Main Game debut at Sydney, it is a dream come true for myself, my family and my supporters/partners. I can't wait to see where I rank against the best in Australia and what lessons I take away to come back and be better. It will also be great to put Tasmania back on the Supercars stage."

Simon Brookhouse Tickford CEO states, “It’s great to see our pathway for young talent through our Tickford Autosport program, can provide the opportunity to benchmark their skill set and gain valuable experience in the top level. To start Lochie’s preparation, we’ve brought him to Darwin to be with our main game and be part of the group. Sitting in the pre and debriefs with our engineers and both Cam and Tom. This will hopefully have him in great shape for his main game debut.”

Rod Nash Team Owner adds, “We have always been a team that has blooded drivers and been able to elevate them on a consistent basis. We’ve shown we’re a team that has a repeat level of success and now as a focused two car main game operation, we haven’t lost sight of our development. We’ve actually placed a larger focus on this, with three cars running this year in Super2.”

The team will roll out a test day at Winton for Lochie as a lead into the Sydney event.
